National Education Union (NEU) Teacher Strike Action
As you may be aware, the NEU, the largest teaching union nationally, has balloted for industrial action (to strike) to take place on a number of days in February and March:
Wednesday 1st February
Thursday 2nd March
Wednesday 15th March
Thursday 16th March
This dispute centres on the 2022 pay levels in the School Teachers Pay and Conditions document. Teaching members of the NEU will be instructed by their union not to attend work on these dates. They also do not have to tell their school if they are planning on striking which can make planning for these days difficult.
As a consequence of strike action this may mean that your child’s learning could be disrupted on these dates. Each school within the Faringdon Learning Trust are working hard to put contingency plans in place for any teacher absences.
