The relocation of Shrivenham CE Primary School planned for February 2024, has been rescheduled. Our current estimated relocation date is Wednesday 17th April 2024, after the Easter break.
This project is being managed by Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) who have appointed ISG as the main contractor to design and build the school. Due to complications with the installation of the power and other utilities connections to the school site, commissioning will now not be possible in the remaining timeframe. OCC have advised that the practical completion date will be revised accordingly, and the current aim is that the opening of the site will follow in the next holiday period at Easter, with two additional INSET days planned for the school on 15th and 16th April 2024 to support and facilitate a smooth transition and relocation for staff.
OCC and ISG are working hard to confirm dates for practical completion and subsequent relocation date as soon as possible, but these are largely dependent on the date that the power installation takes place. As soon as they have this, we will be able to confirm a relocation date and the associated INSET days.
Rest assured although we appreciate this revision to the programme is disappointing and frustrating for everyone concerned; it is essential to ensure the building is ready for occupation at the time of handover and that the school is afforded the opportunity to relocate over a holiday period.
Faringdon Learning Trust and Shrivenham CE Primary will continue working hard to support ISG and Oxfordshire County Council to deliver the new school building and meet their obligations to the staff, pupils and wider community.
If you have any queries in relation to the relocation, please speak with the relevant school office in the first instance.
