Wednesday 6th September 2023 was a historical day for Shrivenham Primary School and the development of their new building.
School staff, pupils, council members and Faringdon Learning Trust staff walked over to the new school site to lay two time capsules as part of the school expansion project.
Children and staff spent time collecting items that they thought would be of interest to children and staff attending the school in 50 year’s time. This included class and staff photos, some house points and certificates that we use to celebrate achievement, a calendar of events for the year 2023-2024, a copy of the school dinner menu, memories from all the children and staff currently at the school, a school ruler and pencil and much more!
We are very excited for the pupils of 2073 to find these treasures of our today.
Richard Evans, CEO of Faringdon Learning Trust said:
“This event marks a very special occasion for the school. I am extremely proud of what the school has achieved and look forward to seeing the school grow and develop over the coming years. This is a very special place to come to learn and make friends”.
Shrivenham CE Primary School is planning to relocate in February 2024 and the construction of the new school building is progressing well in line with this.
