The OCC ‘Aspiring Headteacher Development Programme’ is a brilliant opportunity to enable you to prepare yourself for headship and for the process of applying for your first headship. The feedback from cohort 1 participants has been really positive – not only have a third secured headships, a further third are actively looking and are using what they have learnt to apply for the right jobs at the right time. The others have used the programme to develop their leadership portfolio so they will be ready in the very near future.

The programme will focus on:

Defining your vision and values – what drives you?
Understanding what do great headteachers do and how can your experience enable you to be the same
Being the leader
Writing an effective application
Being successful at interview
