The training consists of 3 online sessions led by an IRC (International Rescue Committee) education specialist who has experience of the English education system as well as having worked with refugees both in this country and abroad. The sessions will provide you with an opportunity to learn about the Healing Classrooms model and to share expertise with other educators in your region.
The IRC will also provide printed instructional manuals and resources, access to an online resource bank for teaching and teacher development and comprehensive country briefings to assist schools to develop a greater understanding of the culture and the education system in Afghanistan and Ukraine.
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) helps people affected by humanitarian crises to survive, recover and rebuild their lives. The IRC’s Healing Classrooms approach, based on 40 years of research, offers children a safe and predictable place to learn and cope with the consequences of conflict and displacement. It covers how to provide safe and supportive learning environments for refugee students in your school alongside practical advice and resources on how to incorporate social-emotional learning and trauma-informed pedagogy into the curriculum.
