Principles of targeted Differentiation (SEND)

November 28 @ 4:00 pm - 5:45 pm

Learn how to Differentiate for children with complex SEND profiles, for when whole-class Adaptive Teaching alone is insuffcient.

Adaptive Teaching is the bedrock of high-quality universal provision. However, what do teachers do when Adaptive Teaching alone is insufficient to meet the needs of individuals in their class with complex profiles?

Differentiating learning is a core responsibility of teachers, but it can be difficult to know how to meet individual needs.

This session grounds participants in the principles that support all learners to achieve their maximum potential.

Whether you are a Teaching Assistant, ECT or a teacher seeking some professional rejuvenation, this workshop is designed to lead to more creative, more inclusive and ultimately more productive differentiation.

Learning Outcomes:

  • To explore the difference between Adaptive Teaching and Differentiation.
  • To explore strategies for the effective differentiation in highly mixed ability classrooms.
  • To create more effective learning environments.
  • To explore how the principles can be easily transferred to your classroom.
